Support Worker, Lydd, Kent TN29 9PU
We are recruiting for our clients who are currently looking to grow their already established and dedicated team of support workers in Lydd, Kent.
Support Worker ***£1000 Welcome Bonus***
Permanent - Full Time
Salary: £9.07 per hour
Hours: 42 hrs per week over 7 days
Can you support people to live their best lives? If you can: We are looking to recruit staff with experience of working with individuals that have behaviours that challenge, however applicants with less or no experience will also be considered if they wish to consider this as a career path.
Our client's residential home is situated near the quiet town of Lydd on the Romney Marsh. They support adults with a diagnosis of learning disability, autism, mental health, epilepsy and behaviours that challenge, some of whom are supported 1:1 or 2:1 during the day and 1:1 or shared hours during the night. This site is now under new management.
The most important thing we are looking for is the right values. It is crucial that you are compassionate, friendly and treat the people they support with the integrity and the respect they deserve. We are looking for individuals who are able to work effectively as part of a team and can adapt their communication style depending on who they are dealing with. If you can marry these qualities together you have the ingredients to be a great Support Worker. Previous experience of working within a support role and having a NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and social care is beneficial but is not essential.
We would like our support workers to have the following:
Patience a caring nature
To want to support with a variety of activities.
A passion to work with individuals that may be non-verbal as well as verbal.
Ability to support individuals with their personal care.
Be willing to undertake training in the form of E-learning or face to face.
To be able to work off their initiative as well as directed by a team leader.
Compassion and empathy
The ability to contribute positively to team meetings and to work closely with colleagues in the best interest of the individuals we support enabling a high standard of care to be delivered.
The resilience to support individuals with behaviours that challenge.
A willingness to work to support plans and care plans enabling consistency.
You will need to be a car driver due to the location of the home.What we will offer you in return:
