We are looking for an automation engineer to join this busy manufacturing facility in the heart of Leicestershire. You will be responsible for ensuring proactive and preventative maintenance to all control and automation systems, both software and hardware throughout the site. Normal hours of work will be Monday to Friday 8:00 AM till 4:30 PM, however due to the nature of the business being /7 operation we may from time to time expect shift or holiday cover and for you to be flexible during machine shut downs.
Roles and responsibilities of an PLC / Automation engineer:
Perform routine diagnostic checks on automated systems.
Monitor and isolate problems.
Repair and debug control devices to avoid production disruption.
Follow electrical regulations and inspect controllers to ensure compliance.
Trouble troubleshooting plc's, industrial control systems and relay control circuits.
Assisting the implementation of control systems for new processes and procedures
Foster safe working principles throughout the organisation
Highlight any concerns or safety issues!
Qualifications or skills required to be successful in this automation engineers roll:
You must have recognised electrical experience within a multi skilled mechanical electrical discipline.
Ability to read advanced electrical drawings.
PLC experience including Siemens S5 and S7, Allen Bradley and ELAU both modifying and fault finding.
ability to work on HMI's, developing modifying and fault finding.
abilities to work with robots teaching and programming.
ability to work on different types of communication systems including profi bus, MPI and profinet
The benefits of an automation engineer:
Working Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM till 4:30 PM
Basic salary of £45,000-£50,000 depending on experience
25 days holiday plus bank holidays
company pension, death in service benefit
