We are recruiting a fixed term contract for 4 to 5 months a passionate, enthusiastic and dedicated Children's Nursery Manager to join a long established and well-run nursery and pre-school rated 'Good' by Ofsted. with record numbers of 0 - 5 children.

With a full complement highly trained, experienced, and dedicated team of nursery practitioners and room leaders plus separate SENDCo the nursery has a friendly, family atmosphere for children from babies to 5 years.

We are delighted to be supporting this nursery in their search for an Interim Manager with immediate start and to stay in role until April 2022.

Role - Nursery Manager

Hours - 4 full days Monday - Thursday 7.30am to 5.30pm or 8am to 6pm (36 hours per week)

Location - Melksham, Wiltshire

Salary - £28,000 - £30,000 pro rata, per annum dependent on experience (£15 - £16 per hour)

Pension - Workplace pension scheme where employer pays 3% of full salary whilst employee pays 5%

Holiday entitlement: 30 days including bank holidays and 3 set days over Christmas

Duties of the Interim Nursery Manager:

  • Responsible for the safety and welfare of the children and that staff understand and, when necessary, follow Safeguarding Procedures.
  • Ensure effective leadership and development across the nursery team as well as supporting staff in their roles.
  • Overall responsibility for identifying and actively promoting staff development all level to support succession/ company growth.
  • Achieve nursery occupancy budget, gross profit and operational budget targets for revenue and costs
  • Delivery against company deadlines.
  • Responsible for high standards of care and education by ensuring that all children attending the nursery receive rich and stimulating experiences appropriate to their age and stage of development
  • Meeting compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Promote and facilitate partnerships with parents/carers and other family members.
  • Establish, develop and maintain highly professional working relationships with relevant
  • Local Authority Departments, regulatory bodies and other agencies
  • Support the development of good practice with regards to special needs and inclusion

Requirements of Nursery Manager:

  • Early Years Childcare Level 3 or above
  • Level 3 Safeguarding
  • Qualified first aider and paediatric first aid
  • Strong management and experience in childcare
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Thorough understanding of the EYFS and all statutory requirements
  • May suit someone who has had experience of deputising for Nursery Manager, who is keen to develop skills during this interim position for long term career development

This is a small family run nursery and pre-school in Melksham, conveniently commutable from Melksham, Trowbridge, Devizes, Chippenham, Corsham, Calne and surrounding areas. They work to an ethos of full employee participation and engagement and are committed to paying all staff on or above the 'real living wage' and set according to his or her experience and qualifications.
