Telent are seeking a Design Engineer with experience in the design of telecommunications and messaging systems serving operationally demanding environments. Highley experienced in telephony principles, the designer will have the ability to produce detailed designs of the highest quality.
Preferably with experience gained within the power generation industry or a similar environment and with specific experience of meeting industry and customer specific standards.
Detailed design documentation such as Visio schematics, logical and physical drawings, detailed descriptions and associated sub-topics such as testing and installation specification documents
Customer liaison and stakeholder management as and where required.
Developing High level designs from customer requirements
Developing Low level designs for the Technical Specialists to implement projects within the workstream?s area of expertise.
Timely and effective project reporting.
To produce detailed design documentation such as Visio schematics, logical and physical drawings, detailed descriptions and associated sub-topics such as testing and installation specification documents.
To effectively interface directly with the customer?s technical and operational representatives and flex the solution accordingly.
To work within Telent?s internal design teams (both face to face and via remote collaboration) and proactively take the lead where appropriate and to work as an individual when required.
Business Operations Skills ? Experience
Demonstrable experience of working with the following systems and technologies:
IP PBX systems
Cisco Call Manager experience
Call logging systems

Preferably experienced with some of the following technologies:
IP devices, ATEX/IP54 rated devices
PAVA (Public Address and Voice Alerting)
Incident Command and Control systems
Disabled Refuge Emergency Voice Communications
Networking knowledge (lightweight knowledge)
Ethernet, IP, routing, LAN, DHCP
