Highway Design Engineer

A civil engineering and transportation consultancy are on the lookout for a highways design engineer to join their team in London. As the highway design engineer you will be heavily involved in the projects in a collaborative and small team environment(team of 2) where you will be able to learn and be mentored to forge your career going forward.
There is flexible working and when everyone goes back to the office there is a smart casual wear attire.
For the right candidate this could lead to them eventually leading the highway design service for the company.
As the highways engineer you will be working on a number of highway design projects valued on average from £400k-£1m for private property developers. These projects consists of highway improvement schemes such as new points of access, road widening and junction improvements.
You will also get involved in assisting the transport planning team with outline design advice, vehicle swept path assessments and visibility splay plans.
- An assistant highway engineer/highway engineer with 1-4 years' experience in development related highway design, preparing highway design packages for technical approval, Section 38/278 agreements.
- The person would ideally be comfortable discussing schemes with the local highway authority, taking responsibility for utility enquiries, and be knowledgeable in terms of DMRB/CD design guides.
- AutoCAD (not Civils 3D) is essential.
- The company is open to someone coming from a technician background.
