We have an exciting opportunity for a full time Female Assistant Service Manager to join tour teams in Fulbourne, Cambridge.

Thomas Road and Teversham Road are Supported Living services, supporting 7 adults who have learning disabilities, enjoying a variety of activities and being engaged in their community. The staff team to manage are currently 6.

In this role you will be;

Take ownership for continuing professional development for self and the team.
Work with your Service Manager to use management information to make sound business decisions.
Maintain an understanding of the social care sector and how it impacts on areas of responsibility and the organisation.
Assists the Service Manager to encourage a solutions led culture.
Maintain a practical knowledge of policies and procedures and ensure appropriate usage.
Effectively recruit, develop and manage employees in a fair and consistent manner.
Work with your Service Manager to reinforce a culture of continuous improvement (through analysis of information and data provided and using practice leadership).
Act as the Service Manager in their absence.
You will motivate and inspire your team to provide outstanding support through effective training, coaching and leadership by example.As well as supporting people day to day, the role will include acting as a role model for active support, management and coordination of support hours, rota's, recruitment of new staff, development and management of current staff including appraisals and performance management.

As this role requires providing personal care it will usually be necessary for applicants to have had or agree to have the Covid-19 vaccine.

On successful completion of your probationary period you will be considered to undertake a Health and Social Care Level 5 Diploma at no cost to yourself. This will assist you in career progression within Avenues.

About YOU!

Have commercial and financial awareness.
Experience of managing budgets and financial information.
Sector and specialist experience.
Knowledge of sector regulatory bodies and their standards.
Knowledge of sector relevant legislation.
Level 3 diploma or equivalent experience.
Experience of working with people disadvantaged through illness and disability.
