Their aim is to be the best in the world at delivering innovative design, program management and construction services to organizations with multiple sites. As part of their current growth plans they are now on the lookout for a talented Design CAD Technician.
The Design CAD Technician will be a member of the Design Team and works alongside a group of individuals to provide architectural / engineering services. Accountable for producing accurate design and construction documents for our multi-site clients and supporting other team members in achieving team goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assists in creating high-quality detailed technical drawings and plans based on designs supplied by architects and designers and makes modifications to existing drawings.
Assists in preparing complete, accurate, regulation compliant and to scale construction documents.
Assists in providing technical and creative design solutions that align with program intent.
Assists in liaising with architects, engineers and designers to understand their design requirements and provide technical advice to manufacturing and construction technicians.
Assists in presenting working drawings for use in all stages of the project, tender, manufacture / construction and installation.
Ensures drawings are compliant with industry and health and safety standards and protocols.
Adheres to CAD standards and follows assigned drafting protocol across all projects.
Assists in calculating costs and apply knowledge of materials and engineering principles to check feasibility of manufacture and construction of the product.
Assists in conducting site visits and surveys when required.
-Minimum 5 GCSEs at grade A* to C (or equivalent) including English, maths and a technical subject.
-BTEC or HND or similar equivalent qualification in CAD related subject.
-0 to 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
-Good knowledge of architectural principles, practices, and advanced techniques.
-Expertise in drawings, specifications, and building materials.
-Experience in multi-site projects preferred.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have expert knowledge of AutoCAD (required), Revit (preferred), Illustrator, Photoshop, SketchUp, Microsoft Office Suite and email. Smartsheet and 3ds Max is a plus.
Certificates And Licenses
A full, clean & compliant driving license required.
Most of the work is undertaken in the UK and you will have a level of flexibility of working from home and the office, when current restrictions ease.
Travel is required so to manage projects effectively and will be up to and including weekly site visits
