I am currently working closely with a client based in Hemel Hempstead. They are looking for a class teacher who is open to teaching in a therapeutic learning environment. The students usually have social, emotional, behavioural and communication difficulties as well as learning difficulties.

Job Summary

The Class Teacher willbe part of a team of teachers and assistants responsible for a class. The Class Teacher willhave overall responsibility for the class. The class willbelikely to have between 4 and 8 students, according to the needs of the pupils and the ability of the teacher.
The Class Teacher is responsible for the academic work, discipline and socialeducation of the class. There will usually be one classroom assistant who willbe with the class for all lessons.
The Class Teacher willprovide a balanced curriculum and maintain the progress of all pupils in the class through the relevant subjects at a pace suitable to their age and development.
The curriculum for the Class Teacher usually consists of teaching all subjects
The Class Teacher will write daily and weekly lesson plans for their class.
Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

Passionate about helping children
Experienced or some knowledge of working with SEMH children

Enhanced DBS check (or willing to be checked)
