Our client is seeking a Bid Writer for an immediate start.

Our client is a busy and dynamic environmental company specialising in asbestos removals, fire stopping and roofing works with a track record in providing high quality services to Housing Associations and Local Authorities.

We are seeking a talented and highly committed individual to join our busy Tendering Team.

As a Bid Writer you will develop, write and lead the submission of bids and proposals, create tender submissions, and be collaborative in proofing/editing your colleagues' work. You will contribute to the development of new services, systems and innovative models of delivery as part of developing submissions. You will attend relevant events/briefing, and may also attend interviews and/or presentations as part of the bid process. As you gain experience and the department grows you will also have a role in mentoring additional junior members of the team to ensure you are promoting ongoing professional development and the production of top quality bids.

You will be educated to degree level, or will have a passion for and solid experience in writing bids within the building sector. A specialism in asbestos removals, firestopping and flat roofing works is highly desirable.

You must have excellent writing & editing ability, strong analytical skills and knowledge to appraise tender opportunities. You will need to be organised, hard working and flexible as this is a fast paced role. A genuine interest in the sector is essential. You will be able to write creative, aspirational and meaningful submissions which reinforce our company ethos and the social values of both the company and our clients.

Continuous professional development will be provided, but you must be able to work independently, willing to work flexibly and be motivated to meet individual/team goals and the changing needs of the organisation.

We are a small, supportive and very busy company which is expanding rapidly, based from our friendly Orpington base. There is scope for partial or full time home working (including as a temporary measure).

Duties will include:-

Managing Tender process in its entirety, checking portals, deadlines, clarifications

Responding to queries raised, requesting information, responsibility for timely submissions and management of all portals

Providing end-to-end support throughout the proposal life cycle, including proposal management and advice, presentations and obtaining client feedback

Draft documents and case studies, including cover statements, executive summaries, team and CV information, and company experience

Reviewing and amending the proposal document and content to required standards, submitting to Directors for approval in good time before submission

Carry out debriefs on submissions and feedback received

Proactively seeking new methodologies, tools and innovations to deliver proposals in different ways.

Work closely with Contract Managers and internal staff to form valuable chain for submissions

Proven track record of bid/proposal completion, management and bid advice

The drive to deliver excellent client service through the proposal process

Business development, contacting existing new clients to promote organisations services

Creating and updating spreadsheet of contacts/frameworks/potential workstreams updating and/or introducing Directors

Salary ranging between £30,000 - £45,000 depending on experience & expertise.
