Our team specialises in technically challenging multidisciplinary design, evaluation and optimisation marine engineering projects.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual to join our small Finance team. The role will be to primarily assist with the day to day operations of the Finance department reporting to the Head of Finance. Ideally we are searching for a AAT qualified/part qualified candidate but would consider candidates with relevant experience or a strong academic background. We would support study towards AAT qualification.

Main Duties

  • Manage the accounts inbox. This is where purchase invoices and all internal & external accounts queries are directed. It is the Accounts Assistant's role to manage, record and direct these items as appropriate and in a timely manner.
  • Processing purchase invoices
  • Liaise with procurement department to match and validate purchase orders, goods received & purchase invoices
  • Processing payments
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Set up new suppliers in the accounts database & complete credit applications

Other Duties

  • Purchase and sales ledger maintenance
  • Review of employee expense claims to check correct VAT & expense treatment
  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly VAT returns
  • Assist with year-end processes and audit
  • Administrative tasks as required

Qualifications

  • Educated to A level or equivalent (AAT Qualified/Part qualified desirable but not essential)

Desirable Experience

  • XERO accounting software
  • Bookkeeping
  • Bank reconciliations
